23 Cars with 10 Drivers from Victoria headed over to Penfield Quarterscale Speedway to battle out the South Australian Dirt Modified Title.
I can safely say a great night was had by all, however the night didn’t go without dramas, timing problems and poor lighting were some factors to come out of the event as well as some electrical gremlins with one of our members, with all that said Penfield turned on a great event with a “MAD” venue and “Off the Hook” Racetrack which saw a lot of mid track racing and even some passing up high….
Dave Seckold (v45 Seckold Racing) came out victorious for the second time in three years, Dean Rogers (v28 REMS RC Motorsport) come home in second making it three podiums in the last three years and on his first time out to Penfield Andrew Park (v19 JAP Racing) come home in third.
The support classes were filled by Sprintcars, Speedcars and making their debut at Penfield were the Late Models.
No Victorians were in the Sprintcar support class this time out.
Speedcar Final was taken out by John Wiggins closely followed by Dave Seckold
Late Models was an all Victorian Affair except for Shane Stephens who ran a car that he only received the night before.
Placings for the Late Model final were 1st John Wiggins, 2nd Mark Carlin, 3rd Dean Rogers
A big congratulations to all the Vics who were mostly on their best behaviour throughout the weekend.
A very big Thank You must go out to the Penfield Quarterscale Club for once again putting on a great show and let us Mexicans for the third year in a row bring their title back across the border….
